when I buy ulead video studio 10 will I be able to put it on 2 computers?

I have never downloaded anything from the internet like this, i always buy software from the store, but I can't find this program any where.

Should I buy the backup CD? Should I buy the photo impact 11, it says you will save $60.00.

what is the photo impact 11? can you edit pics and crop into shapes? or make black and white?

    thank you all so much.

What you are trying to address are the provisions of the "shrink wrap" licience agreement.
The licience will popup as part of the install procedure. You will either accept or decline to
    abide by its provisions.
Questions about the licience should be addressed to the SW vendor.
As a general rule you may install sw on more then one computer but you must ensure that only one copy is in use at any time.

what he is saying is you can put both copys on your pc, but ulead say you cant use both
at the same time! but there is nothing to stop you running both at the same time apart
from copyright and stuff, but i guess ulead would never find out if you did.

Legally no..., two simultaneous uses = two licenses... But why aren't you asking them directly?

It all boils down to: are you an honest and honorable person? Would you rob a bank, mug an old lady, steal gas from a filling station? In the eyes of the law there is little difference between these actions and stealing SW.
Whenn you download and install SW you are being placed on your honor to abide by the licience you agree to during install.
By the way it is possible to track SW use remotely.

You can chew over semantics all you want. The truth is it's a violation of the EULA, pure and simple.

That pretty clearly means that you and your sister are two distinct and separate customers, and therefore you each need your own licensed copy of the software. To suggest otherwise would be supporting warez.

You can't be serious. That's a ridiculous argument.

    .
It's a very versatile image editing program. What you mentioned is just the tip of the iceberg. This for example was created bym me using it:

That's actually a pretty easy image to make... Photoimapct is the only program that can open and edit UFO files which are propietary ULead files. They use them for making the templates for the DVD menus in Video Studio, Movie Factory and DVD Workshop. You can customize them even futher than what VS allows to some extent with Photoimpact.

If don't already have an advanced image editing application such as Photoshop or Paintshop I'd reccommend getting it.

If you want to use it on more than one PC at a time - be it desktop or laptop - you have to buy more than one license (one for each machine). There is also no universal law that says you may install the software on more than one machine so long as they are never in use at the same time. You need to call Ulead and ask them what their license allows for if you want to know before you purchase.

I don't know why you haven't done this already.

To make a backup of the copy you purchase on-line, simply burn the file you download to a CD.

    How big is it ?

Do you know how to use Nero ?

Do you need to ask a responsible adult to cut paper with scissors for you ?

You have wasted four days on something a two minute phone call or a three line email to Ulead could have cleared up. You are asking questions that cannot be answered because you haven't provided any information.

Will it fit on a CD ? How can anyone know if you don't tell us the size ?
Can I install and use one version on multiple machines ? How can we know if you don't tell us what the license says ?

You are getting all frantic, but are doing nothing to help yourself.

other people own the same product, I thought if they had made a back up then they would know.

    I AM NOT GETTING FRANTIC!

I have not "wasted four days" on anything, I post my question and then check back for answers.

If you don't like what I am asking THEN DON'T READ MY THREADS!!!!!

It will fit... The initail download is not the full package though. From there you can download packs of additional content and I don't know if you can save them as files directly.

BTW unless your on braodband forget it and just buy the full disc.

UVS is around 135 MB. Which will fit on a cd. I would simply copy the file from HD after dnload to the cd.
Then if you need to re-install just unzip it back to a temp directory on the HD.
    Nero is not required.
XP supports direct R/W to CDs.

gunslinger is correct in pointing out that the SW vendor is the best source for answers.
Why didnt you just ask them?
Did you dnload the trial version of UVS?
I suspect that you are a "script kiddie" and dont really understand how things work.
Also, YELLING is not necessary and will discourage members from helping you.
Let us know how you make out with Dnloading UVS. If you need any more help just ask.
