I am trying to convert my digital home video (PAL 720*576, captured with firewire)to MPEG2 and burn an SVCD with Nero.
I used TEMPGENC v2.02.31.119 with the the Super Video-CD PAL (MPEG-2 480x576 25fps CQ 65,Layer-2 44100Hz 224kbps) template in my first attempt.
Took 10 hrs and the quality on my stand-alone dvd player (Hiteker G1000) was very bad.
My second attempt took 30 hrs with the settings changed to 2passVBR and motion search precision Highest Quality, still a very bad quality.
The input DV AVI file is of good quality, so I must do something wrong here. Any suggestions?
