I have a season of Knight Rider- I know, Knight Rider. Each episode is one avi file. I am assuming that these all came off 1 or 2 dvds, so how do i get them to fit back on? Auto gk does a good easy job of compressing them to fit, but really how do they get so big if they were origionaly on a dvd to start with. But autogk only does one at a time. Anyway I thought of joining them all together with virtual dub but i get the error "VBR audio stream detected" and virtual dub freeze doesnt make sense on what it does to the actuall video to repair this problem. Basicly I need the EASIEST solution to get these videos on a dvd so I can give them to my little brother and off my computer. Thanks.

Try ConvertXToDVD. It can handle some VBR audio. If not you can save the audio out as WAV audio format with VirtualDub and mux it back in, then use the converter. Instructions here for WAV audio extraction: http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/ExtractAudio.htm

If the files are 3O minutes each, that would be 10.5 hours of video and would look really bad on one DVD.
Take the running time of all the files combined and feed that into a bitrate calculator. (In Tools, to the left. <<<<<<) The resulting bitrate for 10.5 hours would be about 730kbps, well below even VCD resolution. It might be watchable on a cell phone. But you can try one first at the calculated bitrate and decide for yourself.

They will be 45 - 48 minute episodes. Realistically, 5 - 7 discs if you want them watchable. You would be better off getting a Divx certified DVD player instead.

    Use nero, burn as data.

If burning a Movie DVD, I wouldn't put more than three (maybe 4 if they're 45 min) episodes on one disc. If burning a Data DVD, 21 episodes wll fit on two discs.

The Data Disc is definately the way to go since you won't have to spend a month fixing the VBR audio on 21 files and another week converting all the files to VIDEO_TS folders before burning to disc.

A DivX player will play the VBR AVIs with no problem.
