I need to be able to capture portions of recorded DVD's I have in DVD mpeg format so I can piece the portions together using TMPEG DVD Author. But I dont know how to capture portions of the DVD into DVD mpeg in the same manner I can capture portions of VHS through my ATI ALL-IN-WONDER card straight to DVD mpeg using the composite out.

Can I use the same composite out and hook up my DVD player and record the portions I want? Is there other ways?

    Thanks!

You'd be better off piecing your compilation together by ripping the disks to your hard drive then cutting and splicing with TDA. Capturing the footage will result in a big quality loss.

    Forgive my stupidity...

If I used TDA to pull the pieces of video out of each DVD, the final output of each piece comes out as a full DVD file using the Output option with TDA, ready to burn. HOw would I get all these pieces together into one compiltation?

Can TDA output in DVD mpeg form?

I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to accomplish, but it if you want to take several DVD's, extract clips, then re-author a new DVD then TDA can do that. ADD DVD Video to bring in each full DVD, edit each clip down to size, create menus and burn.

If you want to make mpegs from your DVD's then TDA can do that too: https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=224833#tmpgencdvdauthorereauthor
