Can anyone explain (the syntax I need to use) how I get an Intro to play (once) and then jump to the menu? The intro plays for ever no matter what I do (yes, I have read the manual and I have read postings regarding VDCImager and spent the better part of 2 days trying but I still don't get it).

Sounds like your intro may be a selection instead of a playlist. A playlist will automatically go the the state identified by the <next> tag. Try beginning your first PBC entry with <playlist ref="intro">. You may have to remove some tags that only apply to selections, like <bsn>, <loop>, and <timeout>.
Alternatively, you could use a selection, and specify that it only displays once with a
<loop jump-timing="delayed">1</loop>
The 1 here specifies that it plays 1 time. Also make sure you *don't* have a <wait>-1</wait> tag, as this will make it wait indefinitely. If you do it this way, you need a <timeout> tag that identifies the next state, or it will proceed randomly to one of the <select> states.
