Heres the problem I have a few music videos / concerts I wanna encode and put onto an SVCD but Whenever I try to put some of the .avi and encode them with tmpegenc.. it says that they cant be opened and arent supported

I know one of them is Xvid its a dvd rip.. its a concert.. about an hour and a half concert but its 1.18 gb which in my experience.. dvd rip avis that are that length are usually more along the lines of 700mb ..

How can i figure out whats keeping me from opening the .avi in tmpeg

    thanks in advance!

  2. Usually it is a codec problem. Load the avi in GSpot to see you have (or have not) the appropriate codec installed.

Sometimes not even the correct codec helps - in those circumstances, loading the AVI in VirtualDub, and frameserve to TMPGEnc, usually is the solution.

    1. You'll get much better quality if you start with the original DVD and not your AVI backup.

Raise the priority of the DirectShow File Reader to the top and it should fix this issue.
    If in doubt, Google it.
