After solving my problem with the avi files I came across another problem. Now, the program crashes when I add assets. I choose the asset, double click on it and the program hangs, the CPU goes straight to 100% from 2-3%. I terminate ffmpeg and things go back to normal. It isn't about the asset files, it crashes when I add avi, mpg, anything. So again, I can't add files as assets.
I didn't have this problem when I first installed the latest registered version.

I may be off on this one, but what are the paths to your asset files?

I guess you were correct. I moved the file to C:\ and it worked. It only works with C:\ though. I guess this is a character problem again.
Thank you for your help!
