  1. I want to create a dvd from a dv tape that i can set to have chapters every 3 minutes but doesnt then force me to have a menu.

Reason is that i want to be able to skip forward without using the fast forward button.

Does anyone know of a program that can do this?

TMPGEnc DVD Author will do it. You'll have to convert the video first though.

Free 30 day full function trial.

AVI2DVD will do it too. Default is every 5 minutes, but you can easily change the timing. Free program.

I have used avi2dvd before and it kept losing sound. Tried a million different things to sort it without joy.

ConvertXToDVD from VSO will do this...it will let you set chapters and whatever minutes you wish, without or with a menu. Will also burn the dvd for you too. Good software.

Not an authoring program, it's an all-in-one which converts and authors.

Not having used it I can only pass on that it's better than some but not as good as the best programs. Generally all-in-ones are avoided by those that want the best quality.

Strange, I did one with no problems. (or at least the image on HD gave me no problems. )

    Excellent.
This applies to my situation as well. I'm using Pinnalcle Studio V8.
Does anyone know of a way to set it so that you can skip forward.
Otherwise you have to watch the entire DVD in order to see the last quarter or so.
    Thanks
