I downloaded a file of a compilation of videos the othger day. All that was in the folder was the audio_ts and the video_ts folder so i burned it with dvd shrink. While dvd shrink was going through it the video looked fine in the preview window but when i put it into my new panasonic dvd-s29(which is supposed to play burned dvds as pal and ntsc and ive never had a problem with burned dvds up untill now) the video is all screwed up like its going up and its got lines through it. I ran the file through vob blanker and found out that it is a pal movie which my dvd player should play(dont know about the tv though) but it still was messed up. Is there anyway I can convert the audio_ts and the video_ts into ntsc?

Look here for software conversions: https://www.videohelp.com/convert#4;41

You might also want to check your DVD against the DVD specs. See 'What is' DVD to the upper left. <<<<<<

    Region Coding

    and

    NTSC/PAL

    are two completely different things.

There needs to be a setting or a menu option somewhere on your Panasonic player that specifically says something like "convert PAL to NTSC"....if not....then it is region coding that you are referring to when you say which is supposed to play burned dvds as pal and ntsc and ive never had a problem with burned dvds up untill now....not format conversion.

I don't know about the exact model Panasonic DVD player you have but historically speaking no Panasonic DVD players have had the ability to play a PAL DVD and output as NTSC. Some can be modified to be region free and play a PAL DVD but only have the ability to output PAL as PAL without any conversion.

If your Panasonic can do PAL to NTSC then that is news to me and a major change from past Panasonic designs.

Here are two "essential" threads about doing PAL DVD to NTSC DVD conversion:

1.) THE HOLY GRAIL? ... A new method of PAL to NTSC conversion!
    2.) PAL to NTSC problem

As I said before if you have a region free modified Panasonic DVD player then it probably can play a PAL DVD but cannot do PAL to NTSC conversion so you would need a multisystem TV (very expensive) or a stand alone "box" that does PAL to NTSC although such "conversion boxes" tend to do a poor job.

So your best bet is to do the PAL to NTSC on the computer (very good quality if done correctly) or to get a new DVD player that can do PAL to NTSC conversion (also very good but often not as good as a computer conversion).

    Anyways good luck !!!

well i tried the ifoedit patch method and that didnt work at all, its still doing the same thing. Guess I'll go with an actual conversion to ntsc.
edit: I take that back the patch did work, i thought it didnt b/c the main menu was still screwed up but i went to the first chapter it was fine but it was a a bit pixilated so I think i might do the conversion anyway to try and get rid of that.

The patch method is just a "trick" and I do not suggest you rely on it for a quality "conversion" which it really is not.
