    I have 3 - my emachine Celeron 2.66ghz desktop.

An old Pentium 2 HP Omnibook notebook used mainly for light surfing via wifi/dsl.

And an ancient 386 that was working perfectly the last time I tried it out a few years ago.

    4 in the same house.

3 side by side so i can just roll right and left between them.

Enough parts for prob. 3-4 more, that i would bother building, more if you include the bunches of mobo's & extra CPU's, old ram, ect. that would not be worth putting together, like 400-800mhz.

Four, but they all make sense if you think about it.

    1. A low end machine that serves out the internet to the rest of the family.

    2. My main box.

    3. My laptop

    4. Machine I keep at a friends house because I spend at least a day or two a week there.

I have 4 working but also have another that I guess can technically also be called working. All it needs is a power supply.

    Main computer
    Laptop
    Family computer
    "Powerhouse" Computer
PII that will most likely be used for company once I get the PSU

I have 4 computers at home.

One if them so I can play while the other works on projects.

The other 2 are for guest, if they feel like searching the web or playing some games.

or at any given time, all 4 are used for LAN games.

In that case, do microwaves and my smart stove count as working computers? both can be programmed to run a specific instructions at certain times, can be programmed to shut off. They even adjust themselves for daylight savings time.

  28. It depends what do you define a computer to be?

Check out my web site for some pictures

Here is my list of "standard computers":

220 KHz 1802 based hand soldered on perf board computer
    Z80 Timex/Sinclair computer (I think it runs with a 3.579545 MHz clock)
6502 based Comadore 64 color computer (2 or 4 MHz)
6809 based Radio shack computer (4 MHz)
TMS320C30 based hand soldered and wire wrapped on perfboad DSP
66 MHz 486 based Gateway computer
100 MHz 586 based HP computer
600 MHz Pentium 3 based HP computer

    Microcontrollers:

    ZEncore! based development board
    3 programmable Thermostats
    1 sprinker computer
10 to 20 micro controllers flashing LEDs that I've built
    1 microwave computer
    1 oven computer
1 computer in my Bose radio
2 VCR with 1 computer each
2 TV sets with 1 computer each
2 DVD players with 1 computer each
2 cars with mulitiple computers each
    1 engine computer
    1 controller for the radio
1 controller for the CD player
2 monitors each with a computer to display on-screen crap
    3 programmable calculators (1 with a Z80)
    5 handheld games
4 remote controls each with a microcontroller

I'm sure I forgetting other computers. I would bet there are 4 or 5 microcontrollers inside each of my Intel based computers (CD drives and hard disks each have one).

6 at this point in time.

One "miscellaneous" machine (surfing, Office products, etc)
    One encoding machine
GF's laptop (for work from home)
My laptop (for work from home)
    GF's Mum's PC (reinstalling Win98SE as I speak)
My old PC, which I sold to a workmate and then bought back off for a smidgeon of the price three years later
    If in doubt, Google it.
