I just noticed when I click on an avi file in my dvd drive, it plays in slo-mo. But if I copy the file to my HD, it plays fine. Is there a setting I'm missing or is this standard operating procedure?

    Thx

It's a dvd data disc and plays the DV-AVI's fine in vlc once you let it run thru once. I guess it's caching on my HD. My default is wmp which is playing the same file in slo-mo. They're just short clips each.

My HD's are low on memory. Perhaps this is affecting wmp. I shall free up more space on my OS HD in the meantime.

    Thx

Well, I've noticed this only happens when I've set the disc to burn a non-multi-session. Perhaps it's taking 3.8gb or so and 'stretching it' to fit the whole disc resulting in a slow-mo playback in wmp. Simply setting it to multi-session burn seems to do the trick.

  5. hmmm.... so ya' think it's "stretching" it, huh? more likely it has to do with how fast the dvd player can read/send the info. try being sure if your dvd player has the capability, that you are using ultra dma mode.

It was just a guess...It's not doing it anymore since I switched the settings.
