Hi
I am wiondering whether anyone out there knows of an external HDD/media player, atleast 1TB, which will play MKV files without me having to split them if more than 4GB?

WDTV series, Seagate Free Agent, etc.
Note that MKV is a container. Not all possible codecs that may be used in those containers are supported. But more often than not you will find h.264 or Divx/Xvid ASP video and AC3, AAC, MP3 audio -- which the above players can play.
Also note that the FAT32 file system is limited to 4GB files. So you will need to use NTFS instead.
