    System: 1.7gh P4, XP, Premier 6.01, Dazzle DV Bridge, 768MB Memory, Capture 2 2nd 80GB 7200 drive.

I have done a couple hours capturing from an 8mm analog tap with pretty good success.

But, I just captured 10GB worth (first file 4+ GB)from a Beta tape, and have a little experience that brings some questions:

    1. Dropped about a max of .4% of my frames (i.e. dropped 14 in 3500). Is that a lot to worrry about? (I had defragged my 2nd drive by the way)

    2. When I bring my file into Premier, there are long periods (i.e. 7 seconds long), that appear to have thet same frame repeated, and no audio. Is this what happens when "a frame is dropped"? I can put it on the timeline, and lift out the dead spot, and it appears when I play it back that maybe one frame dropped.

    3. When I first dropped the clip on the timeline and tried to play it/preview it, it would not play back. After editint out some of those "empty spots", it all of a sudden now plays back.

    Thanks

Not getting any input on this, but thought I'd drop a little more info just in case someone gets interested in helping me out.

I have defragmented my drive, and it helped some. But I have found that capturing with Scenalyzer Live is the only capture method that seems to not give me the capture without the problems listed in item 2 in my first post, although it reports a higher amount of dropped frames.

I just tried Vdub, and can't even get it to capture. It gives me an error of "cannot find a driver to draw this non-RGB image format". I don't get that at all.

    Thanks
