I have a JVC GR-D72 miniDV camcorder and i was previoulsy using the USB connection to retrive video from it. I then got word that the quality would be better by using a firewire connection, this also would help resolve my problem of not being able to get the sound with the video. So I went out and bought a firewire card and cable and hooked it all up, I get sound off the camera now, and the picture comes in smoother, but it still comes in very dark, like if I film somethig dark, the screen is just black on the computer. It does the same thing if I use the camera directly from record mode so the feed to the computer is "live" I guess you could say. BTW, I'm using Windows Movie Maker 2.1.4026.0 (ver 5.1 build), dont no if that makes any difference to this problem or not. Graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200. Is there anything I can do to brighten up the feed? I thought just getting firewire wouldve done it, but apprently not. Just lookin for some help here, thanks.

there are ways of increasing the brightness, but then the finished product will be washed out in normal scenes. best if you try a couple onto dvd-rw for yourself. you don't have to believe anyone else
you're welcome--
