I have been having ongoing problems with videos as u can see from the title of this post ! Basically what I need to know is what Video and audio codecs and bitrates do I need to convert my video to in order to upload it to photobucket.com ? Currently my video is 26.7 MB, in H.264/MPEG-4 AVC format, fps is 29.7, the video bitrate is 1248 kbps, The audio codec is AAC, the audio frequency is 48000 stereo, and The audio bitrate is 128. Please let me know if I should change these or the video or audio codecs and if so what I should change them to ! I have been unable, so far to successfully upload a video to photobucket.com !

Please see the links below from when I tried to get help from techsupportforum.com for more details as well as any of the other link provided in the following techsupportforum.com posts that you think might be relevant !

  2. it looks like you should use the new beta uploader there. it will download a plugin to your computer that will encode the videos to the proper spec before uploading.

I have it for Internet Explorer but after it encodes my video I get an error message forcing me to close Internet Explorer ! Is there another external source that I can download it from ? Please let me know and post the link here !

    Thank you !

  7. youtube's not too bad. make an account. log in. go to "my videos". in the upper right click on up upload/video file. in the middle of the page click on try our "bulk upload plugin". install it. close and restart your browser. go back and click on try our bulk upload plugin again, it will take you to the upload page. select what you want to up. click upload all videos, even if it's only one. the bulk uploader will resume if interrupted, as long as you don't turn off the computer. the other uploaders at youtube will fail if there is any interruption.

youtube prefers your videos to be encoded into h264 mp4 with aac or mp3 audio.

Here's the information that I think you wanted ! The info is from Gspot !
    1st video-
    573 MB (586,816 KB / 600,899,584 bytes) DVD VOB format, MPEG-2 Video codec, MPEG-2 program stream 1 vid 1 aud, AC3 Audio codec 0xbd[0x80]:48000Hz 192 kb/s tot , stereo (2/0) , 2 max 15 max; N=12, M=3 (83%) Len 14:53.777 frames 21,429 KBPS5063 QF 0.489, PIc width 720x480 SAR 1.500 (3:2) PAR 1.185 (32:27) DAR1.778 (16:9) frames 29.970 Fields 59.940 System Bitrate 1080

    2nd Video
Same as above if not listed !
    SAR 1.500 (3:2) PAR 1.500 (3:2) DAR 1.778 (16:9),LEN 26:21.262 Frames 37,912 KBPS 5110 QF 0.493

I took 2 small clips from the above videos from a DVD and put them together with VirtualDub ! I want the finished video to be in the highest possible quality but small in size as I only have a dialup internet connection. Preferably 22 MB or less ! I'll consider making it bigger if that isn't possible ! I want to upload the finished video to Photobucket !

If you need any other information please ask me !

    Thanks !

  16. i'd try it this way. use dvdshrink to cut out the part of the dvd you want, and extract it with just the video and 1 audio track. have it write the vob to the hard drive. use vob2mpeg to convert to mpeg-2. get the photobucket plugin working and use it to convert th empeg-2 to their specs. the fewer steps the higher the quality will be.

Ok, I did what you suggested ! I want to join the files. What specs should I convert the Final Video to ?
    Quote Quote
  20. the joining needs to be done in the original format. take both the vobs and put them in one folder with the first one named vts_01_1.vob and the second vts_01_2.vob then use vob2mpg to join them into one mpeg2. once that is done convert to photobucket spec.

Can you tell me what Photobucket specs to convert to and give me instructions on how to combine my files with VOB2MPG v3.0 ?

    Thanks !

  22. vob2mpg v3 works the same as 2.5 but you have to click the small downarrow to the right of the browse for dvd source icon and browse for vobsets. use the photobucket plugin to convert the joined mpeg-2.

Put the VOB files from your two movies into a folder and rename them in order. As long as they appear to all be in the same VOB set, vob2mpg will append them all into one mpg.
    For example:

    Disk 1
vts_01_1.vob copy to new folder as vts_01_1.vob
vts_01_2.vob copy to new folder as vts_01_2.vob
    Disk 2
vts_01_1.vob copy and rename to new folder as vts_01_3.vob
vts_01_2.vob copy and rename to new folder as vts_01_4.vob

Use VOBset mode, browse to and select the new folder, and start extraction.

Show me a screen print of the folder you moved the VOBs into. And define what "not working" means. Exactly what happens. The log from VOB2MPG would also be helpful.

What I mean is that it's not appending the two videos into one.
