  1. HELLO
i would like to convert divx files on my pc to wmv.
the reason for this is so i can stream wmv files through my xbox 360 onto my tv in my livingroom.
Files must be in wmv format because the windows connect software which joins xbox and pc only recognises wmv format.
can anyone give me a few pointers before i spen hours converting files to only be upset with results?
which is the best of the freeware software to use? wich is better conversion ...cbr...or....vbr?
    thanks people.

You could try SUPER. Divx is pretty highly compressed, but WMV can be also. Give it a try, though. It's freeware.

You could use virtualdub in direct stream copy mode to save out a 5 minute sample for conversion, just to make sure the quality is what you want

  7. stoik video converter is alright, i suppose, but take baldrick's suggestion, and please for the love of god, do NOT use winavi.....their people love to troll and spam the forums here just to try and fool people into buying their subpar products....

When WinAVI is used in a post, instead of linking to the Tools section, it should link to this post
