  1. Do cd drives have to be compliant to an SVCD standard to burn them?
I have no problems burning VCDs, but everytime I burn an SVCD, it will fail at the lead out, or complete but with nothing on the disc..
    Any Ideas?

    Cheers

  2. Nope, it doesn't have to be compatible with SVCD to burn it.
If you are having a problem, then it's not cause of the drive, it is something else that causing it to fail, but you'll need to give alot more details at what and how you do what you do.

  3. Cheers for your reply Sefy.
I have followed numerous guides to burning with both Nero and cdrwin.
These different guides have basically all told me the same thing, and yet the problem continues.
The most indepth guide i have found is at dvdripguides.com.
I have followed this to the letter.

  4. qdos, I don't write multiple guides, I use the same guide for everything, reading many of them confuses, and it's not healthy to follow them to the bone, it's always good to learn from, but not follow, guides are ment as an example

Now, I guarntee you that a CDRW does not need to be compatible to burn an SVCD file.

  6. If you can take a suggestion, try using VCDeasy or TSCV, they create a much more compatible CD's then Nero or any other program you will ever use.
