Cheers
Ive had excellent help in the past here understanding RAR's and PAR's files, and havve tried to download a few to understrand the process.
I have two questions: i downloaded a set of files that are only rar files with no apparent par or par2 files. when I open one, unstuff it says I can't do it or words to that effect. why is that? do I only download rars that have pars and a par 2? it seems I don't need the smaller par2 if I click on a PAR.
one set of files I downloaded turned out to be a WMV, a file type I try to avoid for obvious reasons. when I opend the file, WMPlayer said this: hardware license for this content is inconsistent. I tried VLC player, and nothiing happened. the file opens in VLC with no piocture and does not run.
WMP is v 9.o and VLC is v 0.7.1a
Id like to understand whats happening here, and if there is any other way to open the WMV file with another program
OS is 10.3.8 as noted
cheers

With it, you can open the First RAR ( filename001.rar)
and it will intiuitively hunt for the other pieces to unpack the whole thing,
something Stuffit doesn't do. Stuffit is best for single RAR archives.
Multi-parts, with or without par2 files, are best handled by
Mac Par Deluxe.

spoke about last week (STF). The fact that it is checking your Hardware
config is one of the signs of Mr. Softee's DRM, and there's nothing
you can do about the file ( Flip4Mac's stuff doesn't handle Windows DRM).
Trash it and move on."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

and Terr is write that if its DRM flip won't work for it
I have and Ext HD with 10.4.x on it Ill get around to trying the Filp on that with QT 7 when I can
