  1. It is no problem to make decrypted dvd5´s of purchased or rented DVD9´s. The real problem is this:

How do I make an encrypted DVD back-up?

Case: Say I HAVE made a legal DVD with CSS, and post production wise cleared up space on the PC.
Now later the need for new copies arises and the only way I know is to decrypt the original material to make the additional copies.

Which settings, which software based copying options do I have.
Could DVD Decrypter be used for this purpose?

Well there is a problem with copying rented DVD's...it's illegal

But to answer your second question...No you can't copy protect burnt DVD's. There are a few tricks to make it slightly more difficult though. Search the forum for a more in depth debate of the merits of these techniques.

  3. I have been about this for months already.
I have tried the best there is even Wytron hardware solution, left is it to go through glass masters, but I don´t see the problem solved like that, obviously the software is at hand to do this.

  4. you cant make a copy protected backup..you could try,but you wont succeed.
not unless you go and get a glass master made, then pack it in lead and bury the only copy off that for 1000 years.
    just get over it.

Yes it is possible-I am 99% sure!!!! i'm sure someone will correct me if i am wrong.
Convert VOB to MPG. Then go and spend some serious mega wonga on Adobe Premiere Pro (that can add Macrovision and CSS to it), drop it in that, check the appropriate settings and viola!!

adding CSS requires licenses and royalties to be paid. I dont think any software has that capability.

Even if you do add copy protection somehow, it only takes a decrypter software to decrypt it.

Besides, the multi-billion dollar movie studio companies with vast resources couldn't come up with a better protection (CSS).

And after 1000 years the inhabitants of this planet would dig it up and marvel at the time taken to preserve a drink coaster by such a primitive soceity.
