installed many pci cards, but this is weird,
just got the pvr 150, stuck it in pci, detected by winxp pro,
downloaded 'newest' drivers from hauppauge pvr150 page
installed base driver
installed driver update
installed wintv2000
installed scheduler
reboot
stuck in the svideo cable & audio
start wintv2000
scan channels .. nothing, switch to composite1 or 2, turn on svideo - nothing
took svideo out,
stuck in the coaxial cable,
start wintv2000, scan channels in tuner/cable/cable hcr,
all detect channel 3 but still
no video, no audio..

OMG
you have to install the hauppage 'software' MPEG decoder
what the hell
why they call it software decoder... i thought it was for playing back mpeg... i already have other mpeg decoders ...
anyway, thanks, to me :P hahahha stuupid -
Return this card now when you can ... it's garbage.
You want the WinTV PVR 250
The WinTV PVR 150 has image and sound issues.

yes, the remote does not work right now (hauppauge did not respond yet to my email),
the ir blaster has a problem with chan 9 on my dish at this moment...
other than that its ok -
You want quality? Yes what you have will work for watching TV on your PC, but I wouldn't trust it for capturing or encoding video.

I didn't know the audio problem was just recently fixed ... after all it's been an on going problem since the card was introduced.
The other problem which I believe is still not resolved is that it will oversaturate the image whenever the image is "overly" bright.
If you have a scene for example that takes place with a lot of white then everything looks like crap.
You should go read the forums over at the SHS website.

Good Luck but really you are just hurting yourself using a crippled piece of hardware like the Hauppauge WinTV PVR 150 ... I wouldn't use it if it were free!
Hauppauge has mostly done a very good job with the 250/350 and USB2 versions of the WinTV PVR series so why they would "tarnish" themselves with the 150 ... I don't know ... but this hunk of junk should be recalled from the market.
