Right....bit of a problem.
Dont know if this is meant to happen but when i encode an xvid to dvd....and the orig xvid is in letterbox....
when i play the dvd on my tv it stretches the picture to full screen and really i want to keep the origional letterbox format.
It doesnt do it to svcds tho, they stay in letterbox format.
Also when i play the dvd on the pc in power dvd it is in letterbox like it should be....but not on the tv![]()
Thanx
p.s when using winavi in the past these xvids encoded and when played on a dvd player was still in letterbox like it should be

No. But i have a test version with the overscan feature for you to see if that sorts it. Drop me an email & I'll send it to you.

Hmm, this isn't really the problem i was having...
When i played my xvids they would display more in playing them on a pc (i.e. when the credits came up etc, you could see more words) than they would when played on a DVD player, but it was retaining the correct aspect ratio.
I know it's obvious, but are you sure you've fiddled about with ALL the various combinations of tv and dvd settings you can set ?
The overscan feature that i was using just extended the amount of picture that's rendered onscreen via a tv, but it sounds like you're trying to use this to force a different screen size ? -
Now, is the problem of chris lund solved?
I have got the same trouble and would be interested as well.
Please let me know if any hints are available to overcome this streching.
Thanks in advance.
