I am wondering what was the last version of DivX 5 series? And whether it's possible to still download DivX 5? I tried looking on www.divx.com website but all they've got is DivX Create/Play 6.1.1.

I want to use DivX 5 with Auto Gordian Knot.

  2. i think the last version of the 5.x series was 5.2.1, if i'm not mistaking, if you want something that's easy to use though, check out fair use wizard (im pretty sure that on the page that's set up here, they got a link to celtic druid's free version of it, just use that if you dont wanna outright and buy it....though you may consider making a donation to the original author of the program as it is a pretty good program) divx 6 is now at a point where it surpasses the 5.x versions in pretty much every respect, so you may wanna go that route.....

http://oldversion.com/program.php?n=divx - but personally, I'd go for xvid too.

Xvid is just trying to copy DivX 5. I been using Xvid too much now under AutoGK, but I like to use DivX 5 for a change and see if there's any improvements to quality and sound.

But I don't like to use DivX 6.1.1 because it looks too bad.

  7. honestly, if your looking for outright quality, dont even bother with either xvid or divx, go straight for x.264......as long as your not intending to play it back on a device other than your pc, it's probably the highest quality you can get at the moment....divx and xvid are more intended for low CPU useage, such as divx compatable dvd players, modded xbox's and from what i understand, even some higher end PDA's these days can play divx back....if you got a decently powerful pc though, go straight to x.264 using something like megui......
