TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 & AC-3

I'm new so please excuse the dumb question. I want to make sure I limit my trips down blind alleys. Can someone please confirm what I believe that I understand.

I have TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 and it doesn't play AC-3 audio while editing or cutting. I'd rather not buy the TMPGEnc AC-3 plugin so I've been fooling around with AC3 Filter & AC-3 Decompressor and still can't play AC-3 audio.

Therefore, I believe that the only way to hear AC-3 audio while using TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 is to actually purchase the TMPGEnc AC-3 plugin. There is no freeware solution.

Right. If you want to hear ac3 audio while using TDA 1.6 you need the plugin.
