Is there any way to create a DVD with TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 so that it plays back on a television without overscan . . . so the borders do not appear to be cut off? Thank you!

Use an avisynth script created either by hand, if you know what you are doing, or by FitCD if you are unsure. Load this instead of your video when you encode. The script needs to resize the video accordingly, then add borders where the overscan area will be.

Thanks. I wish I knew more about these programs (especially since they're free). In time, I'll do some reading & see if I can figure them out. Thanks for pointing me to them.

I have tried using avisynth through FitCD as suggested, with my TMPGEnc Xpress but TMPGEnc can't handle it. It keeps cutting the video off and all you see is a black screen with something like a red X. This happens after about 1/6 into the episode.

What might I be doing wrong, and is there other ways to adjust for overscan encoding with TMPGEncXpress?

Edit: I should also mention that this is the pre-encode to convert it into an MPeg file before I can use Author and convert the MPEGs into DVD Vobs.

    Use HCEnc for encoding instead
