At a guess it is either Nero - not the best burner any more - or media. I would start with media. At the present time, DL media is mostly crap. Very few brands have any reliability, and cheap brands should not be touched. Verbatim MKM seems to still be the only brand that burns and plays back reliably. I would start there, and then look at other factors.

If nero isnt the best anymore what do you suggest? I could try mounting the image and burning it from there?

  9. There is a guide (i think), do a seach

I personally use DVDLab Pro to set the layer break.
I think (again, 'cause I'm not at the machine where DVDLab is installed) , it is under Project -- Pre-Master -- Set Layer Break.

  11. the only time i've ever burned a dual layer disc was with dvd decrypter and it did a good job of it......so maybe you give imgburn a run? im not sure if they have implemented dvd video support for this yet, but i used it for 1:1 copying

look for the link "How to burn Double Layer Disks with PgcEdit" -- there's also a 2nd link to discussion at doom9.org (or else I wouldn't have posted as above )
