  1. i have some avi's and im trying to convert them with TMPGEnc, but they wont open. i checked gspot and it said not installed so i clicked on more info and it said (pic 2)


    ive never heard of this video codec. what codec do i need to get these files to open with TMPGEnc?

    x264 is an encoder only.

    You don't really need a codec, just a decoder. ffdshow includes VfW and dshow decoding via libavcodec or there is CoreAVC (dshow only).

    As I said though, x264 is an encoder only so it won't help, although it was what was used to create the file (via mencoder).

  5. ok installed K-Lite Codec Pack 2.70 FULL and now gspot is saying V


    but i still cant open it in TMPGEnc. why cant i open it if it saids installed?

    one of the files opened but the video is black (pic1) that others say (pic2)
