Just did a quality test using Nero cd/dvd speed & dvdinfo. Any idea why the dvdinfo graph looks strange ?. The disc was burned at 4x.

As suggested I tested the same disc again setting nero to 5x, & dvdinfo to 6x (as this was the nearest).
The disc seems to have developed a nasty 'spike' since the last test. It's only been played once & visually the surface looks perfect. This has, of course, reduced the quality score.
Still the unusual Pie graph in dvdinfo. Perhaps its a bug in the programme.

This is why PIE/PIF tests have limited value. It's just not scientifically sound, so many variables can throw off results or just entirely give you a screen full of jibberish (as we have here).

Not to mention that RITEKG05's have a reputation for being junk...

Have taken note of your comments guys, thanks.
harley2ride. I think you are probably right.
lordsmurf. I appreciate that quality tests like these only give an idea of the quality of the disc.
Have attached scans of some of my 'Carry On' series of discs that I backed up over 12mths ago. These were burned on a Nec 2500a. Have always used Ritek because I very rarely get a bad burn, & the discs play back ok on my three dvd players.
Do you guys reckon I should backup my collection to TY or MCC while I still can. ?
