Video to DVD help

Alrighty dont know where to post have a movie the other day it is in 3 files an IDX file a Sub file and a vidoe file Mpeg layer-3 anyone able to tell me how to convert and also when i watch it in wmp it only has sound when i play it in Video LAN it shows the pic but no sound.

2 questions how do i covert to DVD and also how can i watch it with the sound

Here is fine.

Drop it in Gspot first to see what format it is. Read 'What is' DVD to learn about the DVD format.

It's probably a Xvid or similar. Try DiivxToDVD for a simple conversion to DVD. There is a freeware version available.

If you look to the left, there are many guides available. Look in 'CONVERT' for specific guides for conversion to DVD.

If VLC doesn't play the sound, see what Gspot lists for the sound codec. Post the Gspot screen image. You can blank out the title.

EDIT: And your post title, 'hi quick question if u dont mind.' is not appropriate. Please rephrase it to something like, 'Need to convert video to DVD' or something more descriptive. redwudz

The file is a xvid and it says codec not installed.

EDIT: If it's an Xvid, install the Xvid codec from 'Tools', 'Codecs' to the left. <<<<<<

i have made a screen shot of it but when i try to upload it it is not showing on the screen
