dvd author software

Im looking for a dvd author software that will allow me to turn dvd complent mpeg2 files into dvds primarily to create dvds from captured mpeg2 files from a pvr 150. All i need is to trim start and ending frames and create simple menus for playback any suggestions?

what exactly is the use of the ac3 plugin? all of the mpeg-2 video i import either has ac3 video with it, or i have an ac3 audio file for it.

will it allow you to use ac3 audio for the main menu?

i've found that only LPCM (maybe mp2 audio) will work, but not ac3.

The separate filter allows audio preview when you're scrolling through the video adding chapters, trimming, etc.

Without it, you can still input ac3 audio, but no audio preview.

Does anyone know if the Pro version incorporates the ac3 plug-in in the price?

Exactly. Also, if you have LPCM audio it'll let you encode that to ac3 (or even mp2 if you wish ... but I generally I'll leave it as mp2 ... I don't like reeconding audio if I don't have to.).

In terms of ac3 audio for the menu ... it appears to convert whatever you have to LPCM ... apparently WAV is the default for DVD menus (according to LS). Check this thread out for discussion on this issue ...
