I am converting some VHS tapes to DVD and am running into a weird problem. I am using a Pioneer 533 to record onto a DVD and then rip with DVD Decrypter to create one VOB file. (based on various guides) The file size after ripping is what I am expecting. I then attempt to author using TMPGenc, only because I don't like the Pioneer menu selections. So when I Add File in TMPGenc, TPMG acts as if it is not adding the entire file. I can only preview around 30 seconds and the file size is not correct. Even TMPG Source Creator thinks the file is around 30 seconds. I have attempted this with several different movies (football games, really). So right now I either author with Nero, which takes too long or use VOB2MPG and then author with TMPG (which it works this way). I would just like to cut out a step.

You can demux directly with DVD Decryper, instead of creating a VOB file.

TDA should be able to rip directly off the disk itself, have you tried that?

No, I haven't tried ripping directly from TDA, good idea. I'll try that, if that doesn't work I can demux with DVD Decrypter.

Alright ripping with TMPG worked - thanks...
