  1. Taking footage with my camera, using new DV tapes (tdk, sony, etc). Getting two dirty problems -- actual specs of dirt that look like spots throughout the screen, and a "glare" like grime, or like a milky screen across. I ran a DV head cleaner tape through 3 or 4 times but I assume this dirt problem is deep inside the camera, in between the lenses as I also took the front circle lens cap off and cleaned as far as a normal person can reach into a camera.

My camera is a JVC- GR-DVM75. Doesn't appear to be any easy way to get deep inside the camera without full dissasembly. Anyone think this is likely a head problem, or the lenses which I suspect? Any experiences on it? Thanks much.

  3. Is the camera new or old? Have you tried transferring some footage to PC and onto DVD and checking on a TV? Have you had the camera stored in any enviornments where it could have been exposed to more dust or dirt than normal? If it's new I'd suggest a return if you can. If not see if there's a local camera or electronics repair shop.

    Hi coffeecup-sf,

Try searching / posting in the forums over at www.camcorderinfo.com - it's another good site that may help.
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

Those head cleaners are responsible for breaking more cameras than helping them.

Offhand, I'd suggest a professional cleaning of the heads for beginners.
