  1. I had some avi files that nero wouldn't burn so I got divx to dvd and converted them to vob files.
The problem is that it has split one avi into two different vob files, is there anyway to combine these two files to make it back to its original length so I can burn it to DVD as one??
    Am I making sense??

You are but you aren't. You're spot on right up to the "join VOBs" part. You see, the DVD spec says that files must not be more than 1GB in size, hence the reason DivxToDVD created 2 VOB files - it got to 1GB, finalised the first file and started a 2nd.

If burning to DVD, for guaranteed playback support (as far as to-spec goes) you should keep it as-is, and just burn the VIDEO_TS folder that DivxToDVD created. However, should you have a player that plays raw MPEG or VOB, then there would be some merit to what you're trying to do.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Have a look at any commercial DVD. Many of them have 5 VOB files just for the main movie - sometimes more.

DVD Specs states VOBs cannot exceed 1GB in size, hence the reason for sevreral VOBs.

If VOB file exceeds 1GB, it wont be playable in a standalone dvd player.
