I have Nero, and the transcoding portion of burning the DVD even though the files are .vob takes at least seven hours and usually freezes when I try to do it.
Is it my drive? Or is it just that nero's bad?
Nero isn't my main burning utility but it works more than Ashampoo does it just takes so long.
I mean is there any way I can speed up the transcoding or perhaps a way to skip it?

You have similar problems with Ashampoo?
If so, you should probably add some RAM
(assuming your profile is accurate)
Seven hours is insane, 20 minutes more like it
