I am backing up some tv episode dvd's--basically combining discs that only have a few episodes into higher capacity discs. I have been using ulead dvd moviefactory 3 for authoring. I have some half hour (25 min.) episodes of around 400 meg. each. I've been getting 10 of them to a disc. Now all of a sudden the program is blowing up the file size and reporting them to be 447 meg. Obviously I can't get as many episodes on the disc. I have some hour long episodes (45 min). They are around 730 meg. but the program says they are 1.2 gig. Usually I can get 5 of them on a disc but now it's only letting me put 3 on it. Anyone know why this is happening? I've tried reinstalling the program but it does the same thing. When I try to put the usual number of episodes on the disc and burn it it comes up and says there is not enough space on the disc and quits. Is there any way to make it go ahead and burn the disc when I know the data doesn't exceed the capacity?

Use a lower bitrate. Press the Change MPEG Settings button on the Project Settings dialog.
