Hello all
I am having problems with sound on my DVD.
I have figured out that the ones that don't work are PCM (.wav) files and the ones that do work are stereo (.mpa). I have read through several forums and now I think I understand that all the audio has to be one way or the other.
My first question: Does it matter which one I use? Is one more compatible with dvd players than the other?
My second question: How is the best way to fix this problem?
I don't understand how it happened because most of the clips came out of adobe premiere and dropped into dvd-lab pro. Did DVD-lab pro do this and I unknowingly picked one type or the other or was it all from the original sound clips used in the editing on adobe?
Thanks

pcm eats a lot of space, but is universal. AC3 is also universal, and downmixes to stereo through the analogue outputs. mpeg1-layer2 does not have to be supported in ntsc players, but seems to be pretty compatible.
You can mix audio formats on a single disk, under the following rules
1. Audio must be the same format on the same track in a single VTS. So, if you put your menu and clips in same VTS, the track one must have the same audio format in both the menu and the movie clip.
2. The menu and the clip can have different audio formats on the same tracks if they are in different VTS's.
Some players wont have a problem. Others (that adharere strictly to the spec) expect to see the same audio format while in a given VTS.Read my blog here.
