  1. I started a multi sesion disk with Nero 6 (burned a few files) and then tried to continue with Nero 7 but when I added a file to the CD with Nero 7, all the previous files (burned with Nero 6) had disappeared from the CD. This is not a re-writable CD. Does anybody know what is going on here?

Hum,, that's strange. I do either regular CDs or W/R CDs regularly with v7 and once I begin the 1st session choosing mutilsession mode, I can continue to add sessions. Remember that multisession mode adds quite a bit of "Overhead" per session. So if you burn a bunch of tiny sessions you will waste a lot of disc space proportionally speaking.
I had what you secribe happen to me once before and I could never figure out what the heck happened.

Maybe it doesn't read the multisession information from the disc itself, but from some sort of log file that it creates and keeps updated. Since you switched versions, now it cant access that info.

    Just a thought...

Ooops I did not carefully read your original post. Yes, when you go to a different major version it will not work on a disc previously recorded with the earlier version.

  5. Well, all I know is that Nero 7 made a coaster out of my data disk, and did so without any warning to me. I will never use this software again.

There isn't anything wrong with the software. You just cant mix versions.

Have you tried the disc in a machine with nero 6 to see if it is still readable?

Besides, if you think this is bad, you should have been around and trying to use "burn at once" (or any of the other names it was called) when it came out. (the software that let you use a cdrw like a floppy disk). There were 2 or 3 brands and multiple versions of each brand and none of them were compatible with each other.

The use of multisession annoys me.
In 10% of the cases, burning again obscures the original files

    Why even do it.?
CD Media can be a cheap as pennies.
    Just burn another

I agree that NERO shouldn't hide the earlier session no matter what version you burned with. Does this mean a MULTI-SESSION recorded with
PRASSI by VERITAS can never be finished?

I don't think you need a special version of any software to do this.
    It should just work.
Multisession in too many cases doen't "just work"
    So I won't use it

  8. I don't have ver 7, but in general before burning a new session you get a choice of selecting the sessions if you start a new session it could blank out the others as they were deleted. It's better if you select adding to sessions and turn off the update option this sync's your sessions and if a file doesn't appear on burn screen it could blank the existing files. you can retreive your stuff using ISO buster.
