  1. Using the new build for the first time, input is .avi (mpeg4 xvid) with mp3 sound, approx filesize 370 mb, XP sp2, .NET framework 1.1, 2.6 ghz HT processor, 512 mb RAM.

    After a couple of minutes in the conversion process i get error message:

    Version: SVCD2DVD 2.0
    Build: 2.0.2146.38069

    Type: System.NullReferenceException

    Source: DevComponents.DotNetBar

    Message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

    InnerException:

    StackTrace: at DevComponents.DotNetBar.Balloon.6E()
    at DevComponents.DotNetBar.Balloon.Dispose(Boolean disposing)
    at System.ComponentModel.Component.Finalize()

    The process seems to continue though, but what is this error and will it affect the final result (if any)?

    It is one of the GUI components throwing an error. It will not effect the processing. Do you get it all the time or just this once?

    As being the first time using this particular build i cant really answer that, except that it never occured in the previous version.

    IŽll try another conversion today and repost the reults of that one.

    On a side note, the process seems a bit faster with this build than the previous. Looks like itŽs really taking advantage of the HT technology......also CPU and mem usage seems a bit lower......conclusion is: All is well on the western front

  4. Tried another conversion with a 700 mb xvid mpeg4 file, exact same settings as before, no problem whatsoever.

    Tried the first file again, another error message shows again:

    This error message seems to be referring to the same things as the one before, if i am not mistaken.

    Mmm. It is after you have clicked something... what did you do just before you got the error?

    Loaded the asset (the movie with one subtitle stream) took a quick sneakpeak in the preview window, stopped the preview and checked my settings, and then started the conversion process. A couple of minutes later the error screen shows up, but the conversion goes on and the result is absolutely error free. This is what happend the first time i tried that file. The second time (as reported above) i used the exact same procedure, but this time another type of error screen shows up (my second copy-and-paste above) stating (as far as i understand) that the same error occured. But......this time it is even before the start of the process, when trying a sneakpeak preview.

    Looks like the first one is a SVCD2DVD error screen and the second one is more of a Windows XP related error screen? Might be wrong there though......The second screen is mentioning something about JIT-debugging......way beyond my knowledge anyway

    Checking the main log shows one warning message: Warning, QMAT_SHIFT is larger then 21, overflows possible. This message shows up twice, otherwise thereŽs no problems whatsoever reported.

    I am using custom matrice CCE Medium Low 2500-3200, no menu, automatic chapters every five minutes.

    IŽll try to reproduce the error using the same file again and post screenshots of whats actually taking place.

  9. IŽve tried two more conversions with the same file as above but i cant seem to reproduce the error. Might have been a temporary glitch in my computer, i dunno.

    IŽll be back..................with more info and screenshots if the error occurs again
