  1. Hello,
i have a dv avi file of approx 5 GB, when i convert it to MPG using
TMPG the output is without video, only audio. And that is same with any encoder i use. Only Canopus Pro Coder made the correct MPG
However i am still having problems with making Divx by Divx Converter 6.0
    There is still AVSync out
I used Gspot to find Info:
    Here it is

    Multipart OpenDML AVI
(14166 frames in first part, 27005 frames follow)
    Garbage at end
    PCM Audio
    48000Hz 1536 kb/s total (2 chnls)
    Video
    codec:dvsd/
    NameVC/DV Video
    Stat: Codec(s) are NOT Installed

    Please anyone can advise

    Thanks and bye

Which type DV? Type 1 or 2. TMPGEnc and VirtualDub like type 2. There is a converter in 'Tools' under 'DV'.

Have you installed a DV codec such as Panasonic DV codec? The one in Windows is just a decoder.

For quick and easy DV to DVD, I use DivxToDVD. There is still a freeware version available.

EDIT: For Divx or Xvid conversion, I just use VirtualDub Mod. Set the audio to MP3 and you have all the filters available in VirtualDub.

I also use VDMod for editing and frameserving to TMPGEnc for MPEG conversion. You can save out the audio as a WAV and encode it to AC3 with ffmpeggui. Add the AC3 in when you author it to DVD.
