I just ripped a DVD using SmartRipper, DVD2AVI, & TMPGE. The picture quality of the mpeg was not very good, not as nearly as clear as that of a DVD. Is this normal? Is there a way to improve the picture? Is it my computer? Any help here would be greatly appreciated, thanx!

You have to give more information than that. Are you encoding mpeg1(VCD) or mpeg2(SVCD)? Did you use a template provided by TMPG? And did you use CBR or VBR?
