sub/idx to srt BIG PROBLEM!

hi there
right now i have a sub and idx file that i want to convert to srt, but programs like subtitle studio wont recognize the file, even though i see them fine in bs player. cause im afraid that if i try to convert my avi using this sub file in divx2dvd that the subtitle wont show afterwards, happened before. other programs didnt recognize the files too, weird,



also, in the screenshot i included, you can see that there are 2 subtitles at the bottom, 1 chinese, and 1 english, does it have to do with the idx file? cause other movies that i have use to do this until i got the srt file out of the sub/idx file. is there any way to get rid of the chinese subtitles? i tried putting the sub and avi into one folder and deleting the idx file, but then no subtitles showed, and i cant uncheck chinese subtitles when watching the film cause its like integrated in the movie or something

any suggestions are appreciated. thanks in advance
