Hi, i am kinda new to this converting video scene hence my knowledge with the technical mambo jumbo of the encoders and the funny terms people use is pretty much minimal.

I have a SUB and IDX subtitle file together with an OGM video file. I am able to play it in my VLC player. However, i wish to merge the two subtitles together into a MP4 file so that i can watch it in my PSP with subtitles.

I have done a few things.

    1) I have tried converting the subtitles using SubVob (or something like that i know theres a Vob in the programme name). However, i have to type out EVERY SINGLE LETTER in the subtitile. And i think thats just if you plan on doing slow suicide. Is there any way to convert the subtitles into a SRT form so i can use ALLTOAVI to convert it into an AVI file and then use my PSP VIDEO CONVERTER to convert it into a PSP MP4 uploadable file?

    2) I have tried converting the OGM file together with the subtitle using ALLTOAVI (Kudos to such a great software). The video and audio comes out, but not the subtitles.

    [EDIT]

I noticed there is a sticky on this matter after posting. I apologise if it clogged up the forums or it went against some rules. But do feel free to post updated stuff, especially regarding the "ZOMG I got to type all the letters for all the subtitles" issue. Thanks.

Please let me know what other info you need in order to give me advice in this matter. I really seek anyones help out there whose willing to help a newbie out :P Thank you very much.

For converting sub/idx to srt, you could try SubRip as described in the "subrip guide" section of the sticky at https://forum.videohelp.com/topic267416.html

To avoid most, if not all, of typing in characters during the OCR process, see this post:

I don't have a PSP so can't advise on how they'll work with your converter.
