    If you don't have the orignal VOBs, good luck. I've never been able to convert SUB/IDX files without them, but perhaps you will be one of the rare people who actually is able to do this. I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm just warning you that my experience has been 100% negative in trying to do this without the original VOBs.

  4. An easy alternative is to find your subs on a database (e.g. opensubtitles.org, many others), free download. They have hundred's of thousands in multiple languages

    @jman98

    Same here! No VOBs, no conversion!!!!

  6. Open the SUB in SubRip (File->Open VOBs->Open Dir->open the SUB), make sure you have "Save Subpictures To Text via OCR" ticked, and then hit "Start". It couldn't be any easier. You can also OCR the IDX/SUB in SubResynch (comes as part of the VOBSub package).

    'SubtitleCreator ' => Tools => Translate Sup or VOBSub to SRT

    If it's a .sup file it needs an IFO reference, but any ifo can be used.

    i used this method to create a .srt file from .idx file ... i translated some of it about 35% , and i accidentally closed it ... !

    how to open that first translated part (.srt file ) and continue translation on it without losing the previously saved text ???
    each time i open it , it says loaded ,but i see empty srt file ,and when saved , all old text is cleared !!

    any help with that please ??

    SRT is plain text. Open it in a text editor, eg Notepad.

    Have a look at a few normal SRTs and you will soon understand the format, and hopefully work out what's wrong with yours.

    SEQUENCE NUMBER (Starting with 1)
    START TIME --> END TIME
    Text, text text.

    Example:
    Code:
    1
    00:00:20,120 --> 00:00:21,320
    What?!

    2
    00:00:23,440 --> 00:00:24,440
    WHAT?!

    3
    00:00:31,600 --> 00:00:32,640
    What?

    4
    00:01:43,880 --> 00:01:45,880
    Ri-i-i-ght...

    5
    00:01:46,920 --> 00:01:48,520
    'Attention all passengers.

    thanks AlanHK , but this is not my problem ...

    i simply use the Sup to srt tool ...
    SubtitleCreator ' => Tools => Translate Sup or VOBSub to SRT

    i start conversion/ translation ... and after some time like 35 % of the file
    i saved it ..

    i want to continue the translation from idx to srt , from the last position i stopped at .. last time ...

    but subtitle creator is just creating a new file .... !! and clear all old text !

    i just want to continue the translation process ! with the rest of the file ..
