I managed to get my audio sorted in goldwave. Just need to know how to make it play continuously while swaping menus etc. any ideas???

You can't if you jump from menu to menu. Each menu can have it's own audio. Another way of looking at that is that you can't share audio.
What you can do is create an audio track that has natural loop points (with pleasant fade ins and outs) and have each menu last the length of an audio loop. When played, a jump should be momentary and it'll sound like it would were it to normally loop on itself. That's what the Studios do.
Future Note: HD DVD and Blu-Ray, once in use, should give you more creative latitude in this area.
