    I captured an .avi file in Pinnacle 8 and tried to open it in VDub to edit it better and got an error;

    [!] Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'dvsd' (unknown).
    VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to
    decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media
    Player, are not suitable. Only 'Direct stream copy' is available for this
    video.

    What can I do to get this resolved?
    I tried to capture with VDub but got an error there as well;

    'Cannot find driver to draw this non-RGB image format. Preview and histogram functions will be unavailable.'

    I haven't really used VDub yet, just played around a little with it, but I'm ready to start making some DVD's and want to start working with the program.

    Thanks.

    Installed the codec and the problem was corrected. Thanks.
    Going to try the capture as well.
