I was trying to burn a couple of vids I had lying around on my pc. When I got to the screen to burn, I got a message about some of my vid clips being in PAL format and not NTSC. It asked me if I would like to burn all the videos in PAL format. I tried both yes and no and both times I get the following error message:
Unable to create the disc structure
Burn Process Failed!
Any help on what steps I can take to set this right? I don't know how to find out which vids are in PAL format. Any help there?

https://www.videohelp.com/play.htm#identify
Use GSpot or AVICodec to examine your sources. If its 25fps then it's more than likely PAL.If in doubt, Google it. -
I have two additional question. 1. Is the error message I am receiving related to the pal video format. 2. Is there a way I can switch the format of the video clip. I got them off of Emule.
-
I went ahead and just deleted the files. I think it sucks that I can't convert a avi file from pal to ntsc format.

I'm still a little confused. My vids are in mpg or wmv format. How can I find out if they're in PAL format? I don't know which one is which. Then, which is the quickest way to convert pal to ntsc so that nero will properly burn it? Thanks for any help.

Are you trying to create a Video DVD or something? If so, I'd recomment getting your sources in DVD compliant mpg format before letting Nero take a look at them (if you have to use Nero at all for creating DVD).
If DVD creation was as easy as "take any video file, drop it on Nero, click on Burn" this site woud never had been

oh, I gotta update it then. So, the only converting option that I see is the tmpeg/DGpulldown
-
Okay, I'm confused now. I don't know why I need to use tmpgeng before I use dppulldown? A little help would be greatly appreciated.
-
okay, I used avicodec and it says File : 198 MB (194 MB), duration: 0:19:50, type: MPG, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 48 %
Video : 163 MB, 1150 Kbps, 25.0 fps, 352*288 (4:3), MPG1 = MPEG 1 (VCD), Supported
Audio : 31 MB, 224 Kbps, 44100 Hz, 2 channels, 0x51 = Mpeg-1 audio Layer 2 [0xc0], Supported
so this would mean that I do not need to encode it, right? Okay, if so, then I just need to change the file from pal to ntsc. -
okay and then use dgpulldown, right? I tried without using tmpeng and it said something about the file needing to be an elementary stream and not a program stream. Sorry, I'm not as inept at this then most people I guess.
