  1. I'm currently taking a business course at my High School and I'm planning on recording fifty DVDs or so to try to sell around the area.

I'm going to go with printable media, as I've heard lots of bad things about applying labels on to discs. I've been reading around the forum, and I see that many people say that the printable prodisc dvd-r's are an excellent choice. However, I did notice that this specific brand doesn't appear on the "2nd Grade Media."

Since I'm going to be distributing the discs, the actual quality of the data is my main priority. I'm assuming that Taiyo Yuden printables would be the better choice in my case.

Oh, and what about Silver and White Inkjet surfaces? I thought silver was only for thermal printing, but I've found some websites that say it is for inkjet printing as well...

    Thanks in advance,

    Tony

Silver Inkjet gives a Hologram effect. I have used the Prodisc in the Past, but started having issues. If it were me I would go with the Taiyo Yuden's. You can get 100 of the TY's for less than 50.00 normally.

Which printer will you be using?

  3. I may end up buying an Epson r200 by year's end.

And what about those Maxell printables? The MXL ID seems to be the highest on the chart, other than the pioneer.

And is there anywhere to see a picture of a printed silver disc?

Either way, thanks for your help.

    Cheers,

    Tony

Those look pretty good but without actually seeing them it is really hard to see the full detail in any kind of scan or photo, of the silver printable's.

Some things look kind of crappy, but some look kik @$$ depending on what you have printed to them.
