  1. A question for anyone who has one of the many players that now play Divx and/or Xvid. Will it play Divx that's been burned to dvd? I'm not talking about actually converting to the dvd movie format, which I already know how to do; I'm instead wondering if, say, 6 Divx movies can be put on a dvd-r as data, and played in a stand-alone player. Or must they be on CD-r media? Thanks for any info. Tips on a good brand of Divx player would also be appreciated.

That varies from model to model. Some do AVI on both CD and DVD, some only on CD, regarding all DVD as Video DVD (and failing, if it sees a data DVD).

  4. I would List the model's that you are looking at then List those here and ask questions. The DVD list to the Left is great,But also beware that I found alot of People rating some that Play Divx when they "Dont".

  5. Thanks for the info. I've been converting Divx to dvd video, usually getting two movies to a dvd without any visible quality loss. But converting can be a pain in the ass, and now that stand-alones are starting to play divx, I just feel stupid going through all the processing. I need to sniff through this site for advice on the best player for divx.

My Zensonic Z330 plays them on DVD or CD.
    If in doubt, Google it.
