Well I've done this dozens of times before using TMPGEnc. But for some reason this time my outputted dvd compliant file has no sound! The original file plays fine with sound on my computer, but whenever I try to encode to dvd format with TMPGEnc the new file has no sound. Here's a screenshot of GSpot on the file to show I have all the necessary codecs:

Does anybody know what the problem could be?

Demux the audio, convert the video to a video stream, them bring the audio back at author time. I think tmpgenc is having problems with the multi-channel AC3 audio.

Load the avi into virtualdubmod, select the Streams menu, then streams list. Select the AC3 stream and hit the demux button.

Gotcha, it's demuxing right now. So this ac3 audio file will be compatible with TMPGEnc DVD Author then right?

How do I convert the video file to a video stream?

I tried using TMPGEnc using my original file as the video source, but when I choose the ac3 file for the audio source it says it isn't compatible.

And my ac3 files are about 200 kb for an hour of audio, that can't be right?
