After many tears I finally found that I needed a certain codec to get my newly converted mpeg to play (avi to mpeg). But now I can't seem to get the sound to work with the mpeg....

Using AVIcodec, similar to gspot, I obtained the following results about my video.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
File : 2.97 MB (2.96 MB), duration: 0:00:19, type: MPG, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 42 %

Video : 2.60 MB, 1150 Kbps, 23.976 fps, 432*288 (4:3), MPG2 = MPEG 2 (SVCD/DVD), Supported

Audio : 371 KB, 160 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x50 = Mpeg-1 audio Layer 2 (MP2) [0xc0], Supported
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I dowloaded the "Dscaler MPEG Filters" codec package from this website and intsalled it...and it works...I got my MPEG video to play but there is no sound. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions.

EXTRA

1. The video was imported originally from a digital camera, Pentax Optio S55, as an AVI video format.
2. Then recoded using SmartSoft Video Converter with the following settings....

Frame Rate: 24
AVI Codec: Cinepak Codec by Radius
Audio Format: PCM
Channels: Stereo
Quality: High

.....I recoded it because the original AVI file would not open up in Premiere 6.0, once I made this change then it would open up in Premiere and I could edit the video.

3. Once exported from Premerie with all the final touches I then Converted the AVI into MPEG using, again, "SmartSoft Video Converter"

**Again, the question is can anyone help me to get "sound" to play with my newly converted MPEG video** I mostly use BS Player or Windows default player
