  1. i recently taped a concert at a festival and made the mix of it in 5.1 surround using sonic foundry Acid 4.0.

now i am having trouble getting this to dvd.the project has saved the left, right, centre and both rear outputs as seperate .wav files.how do i get these all to play as one 5.1 surround mix also making an animated background out of the photos from the festival itself.

    thanks

If you have Vegas, just load them into Vegas as seperate tracks, check the positions and create an AC3 file. If you need a free solution, ffmpeggui or besweet can create a 5.1 ac3 file.

The photos can be mixed using either something like memories on TV or similar, or a video editor with motion capabilities (Premiere, Vegas etc)

What authoring software do you have ?

As it's been suggested you can use Vegas to make your video compositing and also to encode your audio files to 5.1. As far as I know you can also use Premiere to join all these audio files to get a final 5.1. DVDA is another option: as fas as you have your final 5.1 file, you can use DVDA to create a simple slideshow. Please note that all of them are not freeware. Anyway, I guess you can use you software - pinnacle - to composite your video too.

I don't know about other software but I'm pretty sure most of the lower end software will reencode the 5.1 track as being "non-compliant".

DVDWS is one authoring program that will work with 5.1 audio files providing you already have a compliant 5.1 AC3 audio track. It's as simple as directing it to not reencode compliant tracks. It won't create a 5.1 track though.
